This position works in General Administration. Under general supervision, individuals assigned to this position work in a team setting to perform a wide variety of professional secretarial and technical staff support duties.
Duties:The essential functions of this position include:
• Typing, proofreading, editing, updating, and formatting a wide variety of documents, including correspondence, contracts, agreements, reports, informational materials, minutes, and other related materials
• Preparing presentation and agenda materials for Board of Directors and community meetings
• Providing back-up support to administrative services manager/clerk of the Board
• Arranging for staff travel and related registrations for conferences and other business-related trips
• Helping coordinate and participating in a variety of meetings and events for, and with, other District staff; records and transcribes minutes from meetings
• Assisting staff with computer software functions and applications
• Providing exceptional customer service to employees and the public
• Providing back-up support to reception
Qualifications:Qualified candidates must have:
• Knowledge of advanced principles of business English, including word usage, punctuation, and grammar
• The ability to type at least 60 words per minute
• The ability to use a personal computer in a LAN environment, including advanced word processing and presentation preparation skills, and a working knowledge of other computer software, such as spreadsheet and database applications utilizing Microsoft’s Office suite of programs
• The ability to take and transcribe detailed meeting minutes
• Time, priority, and project management skills
• Exceptional customer service skills

Qualified candidates should have:
• One year of secretarial training in an approved school or training program, including computer skills, business English, and priority management
• A minimum of five years of secretarial experience with increasing responsibility in a customer service, team-oriented environment
